Do you want to confront him and find out he's been cheating or do you want to pretend that they are there for some other reason? It seems like you'd prefer to stick your head in the sand. If that's the case, go for it. It's your life. [ Reply | More ]

I didn't mean to be harsh. I guess my question is, what would you do if you found out he was cheating? Could you stay with him? If so, ask away, if not, then pretend you didn't find them and move on. Only ask the question if you are prepared for the answer. Also, fwiw, if I found condoms in my husbands drawer I would call immediatly to find out what they were for. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 05.30.08, 11:51 AM Flag

I bet they're old. Otherwise wouldn't he be hiding them? You could call a pharmacy and ask about expiration. I wouldn't assume they're for current use. It could start a really negative vibe with dh unnecessarily. [ Reply | More ]

Pretty common google response for you: "Remember to always store your condoms away from sunlight, in a cool, dry place. Also, check the expiration date on your condom package and never use a condom that has expired. If you cannot find an expiration date (usually marked as "Exp"), then check for the date of manufacture (usually marked as "MFG"). Do not use any condoms five years after the date of manufacture. If your condoms contain spermicide, then throw them out two years after the date of manufacture." [ Reply | More ]

just stay calm and ask. do not accuse. just ask directly. "i noticed these condoms in your drawer. when did you buy them?" followed by a "why?". and go from there. maybe he is looking to spice things up with you, maybe they are old, maybe.... you won't know until you ask. [ Reply | More ]

keep breathing, take lots of slow long quiet deep breaths to calm your feelings now (and when you ask him.) when you ask him have a glass of water in your hand. take regular small sips as you discuss (this reverses the cry mechanism in your throat.) works for me to stay calm in times like these. keep breathing long and slow. cool air in, warm air out. and be direct w/o being accusatory. this is what you do - you put them back in a different drawer of his - more of a top drawer that he knows you would see it in. then if tomorrow, they are not there anymore, that means he is using them to cheat because he hid them when he realized you might find them. if hes not using them, he will say to you - how did these old condoms get in this drawer? My DD can read chapter books about 1st/2nd grade level, basic addition and subtraction, good at critical thinking type stuff. Depends what you want. PS 29 has a great reputation as a gen ed school (don't know much about it but has an affluent student body, very good test scores). Children's school is all CTT classes -- 40% of kids have an IEP, which means they are special needs, but not special ed. In other words, a kid could be very smart but need speech or OT, although some kids may need more help. There are 2 teachers/class, often with an aide, so it works well at the school, even for non-special needs kids (who are 60% of each class). [ Reply | More ]
