work around him... by now everyone know he is an ass and you need to get your name in good standing with others in higher places so resolve any issue with the higher powers and just let him know the good news. don't ask for his opinion, don't ask him for ideas, advice etc. just show you can do it all and well, also when you do something good, make sure you tell him that when you shine he shines, that way he will not get jealousand sabotage your efforts.
