what are your 4-5 year olds doing at school as far as 'academic work'? do any of your dc read? what's considered advanced for a 4-5 year old?, would any of you consider a tutor if the kindergarten you want your dc to go to has a very intense screening? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

My DD can read chapter books about 1st/2nd grade level, basic addition and subtraction, good at critical thinking type stuff. I think she's bright but not the profoundly gifted that so many on UB claim their kids are. At this age DD is too young for a tutor. Sounds too intense. Playing games and learning while it seems like fun is enough [ Reply | More ]
