Shout, baby. Love the stuff. They get messy. Then the minute they are done wearing the shirt, dress, whatever, I take it off, spray liberally and let it sit. If I have the energy I put in a load immediately. If not, it can even sit in the basket. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Do you think children that go to private daycare/preschool did better on the OLSAT? I think many of the children that did not do well did not have the privilege of going to private daycare/preschool where these schools no doubt had tests (like OLSAT/ERB) in mind as they went about their daily activities with the children. I don't think it's fair. The playing field was already uneven before these children took the tests. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We did the Thomas thing too. A few thoughts on that front. The first time he poops in the potty, tell him he can go to the store and pick out ANYTHING Thomas. That will give him incentive for the first time. Then tell him that for every 5, 10 or whatever poops he makes, he can get a train. So he has a reason to start and a reason to keep going. Once he's fine, you can taper off the bribes. [ Reply | More ]

never used a book. just be clear with expectations and be repetitious. it obviously doesn't all sink in for a while, but eventually she'll get it. for whining i would say to my son, "please say it nicely" and then ignore him as he whines. as soon as he says it nicely give lots of praise. tantrums: put her in a safe area and let her rip. eventually she'll get tired and will accept your help. don't give any attention to a tantrum though. both 'methods' have worked for my son [ Reply | More ]

you have to ask? If there is a heat alert out there and these classrooms are horribly hot then they should close early. When we were kids (I'm 40) the classrooms didn't have A/C but the rarely did we have to deal with the temps near or at 100 degrees without the heat index on top of it.
