I think that part of the reason behind sending kids to private school, esp among the wealthier segment, is to keep them in a certain bubble, keep them away from the hoi polloi, so to speak. Same goes for the parents' own lives. But if you had the convenience of a driver, wouldn't you use it? [ Reply | More ]

No not only country clubs and golf courses. The top 1000 list which is a broader list includes lots of other neighbourhoods in NJ, Long Island, Westchester, NYC and CT. Neighborhoods in Weschester include some in Rye (Greenhaven, Manursing Island, Milton Point) Larchmont Manor, Town of Mamaroneck (Larchmont North/Winged Foot Area), Hastings and Irvington (on the Hudson), Pelham, Armonk, Bedford, Pound Ridge, North Castle and so on. In the city it includes Tribeca, UWS, UES,Sutton Place, Beekman Place, Brooklyn Heights, Fieldston in the Bronx, Neponsit in Queens and so on..............mostly regular neighboorhoods.
