[ - ] my parents haven't called me once since db born. DB is now 1 yrs old. they won't drive the 45 min. to see him b/c of "cost of gas" and "too much effort" (only granddb). hurts me too much. thinking of just blocking them from any contact b/c otherwise i'm waiting for them to be decent. my mom always tries to be a snotty rude person and says stuff like 'you should have some pride in your own DB and call us about him but we're not going to call you.' your situation does really suck. i wouldnt shut them out at all, try to make some effort, call once every two weeks or so, like there are no problems between the two of you. she is your only mom even if she acts like this. you have a few options- shut them out then a resentful relationship will result. or, be friendly (even if she doesnt deserve it) - you wont regret it later. especially when db talks about grandma. also, there is a chance she may open up. good luck. i really feel for you. i was in your situation.\ [ Reply | More ]

I have used two great agencies- one is called Abby Nanny. You can reach the owner at CZDLutz@yahoo.com and the other agency I used was Pavillion. Both agencies do a great job. Pavillion is expensive but, they did find me a stellar nanny and she stayed with us for 6 years. My current nanny / housekeeper I found through Abby Nanny which is less pricy, CZDLutz@yahoo.com, and we love her ! Both agencies interview nannies and check references and do a personality profile and have optional criminal checks... Pavillion has a website but, I only have the email address for Abby.... Good Luck! [ Reply | More ]

She doesn't seem to be having nightmares, she doesn't really understand what dreams are. It seems like she goes through a light sleeping period and wakes up and then wants attention. I'm at my wit's end because I'm exhausted and she's exhausted. Anyone go through this? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I have a kid in a G&T, who does physical therapy, and the teacher thought she belonged elsewhere. It took the intervention of the school psychologist to say just because this kid can't run and jump like the others, doesn't mean she'd not bright. She remained and is doing very well. [ Reply | More ]
