Yes, but some schools try to counsel out kids who don't fit their "vision" of a gifted kid and some principals, like Lower Lab's outgoing Renay, choose to keep and work with every child they get. [ Reply | More

at anderson, adults go by last name. she's a phd and is therefore referred to by the kids as dr koetke. adults call her mara. [ Reply | More

Everybody else at LL goes by first name (even the kids). The former principal went by her first name. Not it's Dr. Koetke. [ Reply | More

I have a kid in a G&T, who does physical therapy, and the teacher thought she belonged elsewhere. It took the intervention of the school psychologist to say just because this kid can't run and jump like the others, doesn't mean she'd not bright. She remained and is doing very well. [ Reply | More
