[ - ] Thoughts on using the Snap N Go stroller for the first couple months then moving up to a different stroller when baby is older? 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We went with the bassinet version of our stroller for the first few months. Since the baby is lying flat, they can move their arms and legs....we didn't like the idea of him being in the car seat for long periods of time. (bought the Quinny Buzz) [ Reply | More ]

Do you like the Quinny Buzz?? Was thinking of this option but haven't actually seen in person. Is it easy to fold up and down? [ Reply | More ]

we love the Quinny Buzz...great shock absorption and has a sleek look...perfect if you live in the City and need to walk a lot. i've pushed around a Snap N Go before and the wheels are not smooth...difficult to push with one-hand. Also, the Maxi-Cosi car seat is compatible with the Quinny Buzz base...so, if you do need to take a taxi or a car, you can still transfer quickly from car to base. Folding up and down is fast. It has a hydrolic system that opens up the base, so it just pops up on its own. [ Reply | More ]

Love it. Always planned to get the bassinet for our convertible stroller, but loved the snap and go/carseat so much that we didn't bother. If you ride subways a lot, it is amazing. Unclick it and carry baby in carseat in one hand and base in the other. Saved my life. [ Reply | More ]

I think they tell you this for purposes of dating but also to let you get over it emotionally. There is also some evidence that the uterine lining might not be sufficient to sustain a pregnancy after a d&c if you don't go through one full cycle first. FWIW I got pregnant accidentally immediately after having a d&c at 16 weeks and had a healthy pregnancy. However, I had a lot of bleeding first trimester and it was very stressful. [ Reply | More ]

They did fine; ds 4lbs13oz and dd 5lbs3oz; they were both in NICU (step-down unit only). dd came home 3 days after I went home and ds came home 3 days after that (he had some feeding issues and had a feeding tube in his nose for a week, but as soon as they felt he was eating enough on his own, he came home and was totally fine). I really do. My mother's family says as much. The whole "Bush is a guy that I could drink a beer with." Completely ignoring he doesn't drink, of course. "Kerry talks like he has a stick up his ass." My uncle has actually used the exact words "he thinks he's better than us." [ Reply | More ]

I have an idiot cousin who said that. I told him, "I doubt Kerry thinks about you at all. But if he did and he thought that... he'd be right. You are a dope and you're proud of it. The only judge you can name is from American Idol and your sole source of information is talk radio because you don't read." Needless to say, I was not the most popular cousin at Grandma's funeral. HRC herself played this card to get the white union vote in the midwest. Obama is perceived as aloof, and this could be a problem against McCain. I'm praying Ron Paul is our savior, taking away McCain's votes. [ Reply | More ]

Eh, Bush needed Ralph Nader. (I say that partially in jest - I'm not a huge Obama fan, just don't want McCain.) [ Reply | More ]

"I like Obama" poster: There are any number of presidential elections like this. But considering where the economy, war in Iraq and Bush approval ratings are right now... This is a unique situation for Obama. [ Reply | More ]

Exactly! This is the thing that just makes me livid. The insinuation that successful blacks get where they are because of Affirmative Action, but we don't take into account all of the legacies and people who get places because of nepotism (HRC included, even though I love her, being married to Bill didn't hurt -- well not until he couldn't keep his mouth shut during the campaign, but I digress). The public is just as bad. Don't you remember the first time Clinton ran, and Hilary being asked for cookie recipes? wearing a headband so she's look like more of a docile, nonthreatening wife? [ Reply | More ]

Yup, it's outrageous. People are afraid of her bc she is smart, opinionated and attractive. I read an article that said one of the reasons HRC did will with blue-collar white votors is that they could relate to her Walmart-esque haircut and large rear end. [ Reply | More ]

NP: the media panders to us to get a response. If we, as the general public, show Ms. Obama respect and react negatively to inflamatory stories about her , the media will get the message. [ Reply | More ]

We opened a brokerage account with Charles Schwab. It's pretty easy and we don't have an advisor. We just pick a few different funds to be diverse -- an index fund, large cap, small cap, international, etc. Figure out what your risk is and then apportion your money accordingly. [ Reply | More ]
