3yo likes stereotypially "girly" things like princesses, hannah montana, dancing, etc. dh has seriously commented he might be gay. i say this is not unusual for a 3yo. wdyt? btwy, he also like steretoypically "boyish" things like wrestling. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i'd hope most dads would be neutral on this, at least outwardly (and moms too). if that's who your kid is, don't make him feel bad about it [ Reply | More ]

it depresses me that people still think that liking pink or princesses make a boy gay. [ Reply | More ]

op: i definitely do not but i do wonder whether many boys like princesses, etc. my son DOES seem to have different interests than most boys. just a question. i do not make any presumptions. [ Reply | More ]

np: Yep. My DS saw little girls wearing princess outfits at Disneyworld and wanted to dress up too. We told him sure, but when he saw in the store he could get Buzz Lightyear instead, that's what he chose. But otherwise, he was going to run around as Cinderella with our blessing. [ Reply | More ]

maybe he's a creative type, likes the braoder range of colors and textures that girls get in their playthings. maybe he likes pretending. he's only 3, he hasn't learned that he's not supposed to like certain things yet. [ Reply | More ]

I think this age they just like what they have fun doing. I think if boys are into boy things (trucks, etc) it's b/c that's what's been given to them to play with. Don't make your ds feel like he shouldn't like the "girl" things he's into. It will confuse him and make him feel bad. Let the kid enjoy a little Hannah Montana and dance around!! :-) [ Reply | More ]
