the rate itself means nothing unless you know what population the ob takes care of. Some see alot of high risk patients, etc. and so end up having a higher c-section rate, but it doesn't reflect their abilities or philosophies. [ Reply | More

np: i dont know if a agree with that 100%. signed, someone whose dr ended up doing a likely-unecessary c-sec. i'd def find out before. i felt stupid asking. now i feel stupid that i didn't. when a dr tells you you should get a c-sec, you're not going to say no b/c you think you're putting Dc at risk. so make sure you're with someone who you trust is really recommending it b/c it really really is nec. not to make extra money (never really believed dr's did that before, but now not so sure) [ Reply | More
