the rate itself means nothing unless you know what population the ob takes care of. Some see alot of high risk patients, etc. and so end up having a higher c-section rate, but it doesn't reflect their abilities or philosophies. [ Reply | More ]

np: i dont know if a agree with that 100%. signed, someone whose dr ended up doing a likely-unecessary c-sec. i'd def find out before. i felt stupid asking. now i feel stupid that i didn't. when a dr tells you you should get a c-sec, you're not going to say no b/c you think you're putting Dc at risk. so make sure you're with someone who you trust is really recommending it b/c it really really is nec. not to make extra money (never really believed dr's did that before, but now not so sure) [ Reply | More ]

First of all we don't know how G&T is going to be handled in a few years. Second of all you don't need to know what your child is going to be tested on. It will always be something similar to an IQ test. Leave it at that. [ Reply | More ]

np: I disagree. Good teacher is always a plus and by second grade kids are actually supposed to be learning some real academics. Plus the kids that are behind have last shot to catch up before testing begins. So pretty important. [ Reply | More ]

We got a relatively inexpensive leather sectional from Jennifer. It holds up really well to the kids and offers a lot of seating for the buck. The rest we buy piece by piece as we find smoething we like. We both have pretty eclectic taste so it works well. [ Reply | More ]
