[ - ] Just got sucked in again to watching the lohans. So depressing - their house is so empty, no food in the fridge, dina doesn't listen to any of the kids at all, and they are clearly working hard to maintain a fancy front when they don't actually have money. And dina's motivation to get ali into music is so that she can improve their lifestyle. sick. 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] Is it completely tacky to include an "in lieu of gifts" line in an a birth announcement? We live in NYC, have very little space, and a ton of stuff from our first baby. Would much rather have people donate to charity if they want to give. Can we get away with it without offending most people, and what's the best way to say it? TIA for any advice! 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Birth announcements aren't an invitation for gifts. Just announcements. You will look tacky adding that, since you will be appearing to presume that you will get a gift [ Reply | More ]

np:ugh. you couldn't be more wrong. It IS a writing degree -- a terminal degree, in fact, similar to an MBA for a business person. While it is diff't from a journalism degree, it is a respected credential. The issue is that creative writing is subjective and most creative fields are competitive and difficult to break into. I would never accept a young nanny/maid girl wearing clothes that. The girl shall always appear in her uniform (like a white blouse, black skirt, black high-heeled footwear and apron, and a name tag on the blouse) and she has to accept it even if she really hates it. If she refuses, she can seach for another work and leave. Why don't you provide the girl with a uniform, or at least set up a dresscode. [ Reply | More ]
