That price range is right and if you are a new family you need to stand on some crazy line in the fall to get a spot for the following summer. DF waited in line but they only had WL spots when she got to the front of the line. So NYC! [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Agree! Don't be bummed because 1) it's a great place and 2) we don't want parents in the class who feel like they're disappointed before they even walk in the door. That's no fun, and not productive or conducive to a happy community--which PS9 truly is. If your kid is bright and academically inclined, he or she will thrive. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

another ps9 parent. people do not stay bummed once at the school. I think its normal to want anderson because of the MS, but personally, I like ps9 better. Nonetheless, I can understand wanting to avoid the MS hassle. at any rate, ps9 is so great that the school will speak for itself once that poster gets there. she will not be disappointed. if anything, pleasantly surprised. c-section rates were my key concern. I really don't want to have one, if avoidable. My ob office though has a pretty average rate, but it is because they get a ton of women who want vaginal but have had c-section before, most doctors in the area won't consider doing that, so they end up at my ob's office. The point of this is that even if they do have higher c-section rate, there can be reasons for that. [ Reply | More ]

Chose a midwife group reco'd by friends and delivering at the hospital I wanted. Then had health problems, need to deliver at different hospital, chose an OB who came highly reco'd by midwives. Then found out *that* OB delivered at the wrong hospital. Then found new OB through recos here that delivered at the right hospital. Then *that* OB quit 2 wks after I first saw her. Now I'm seeing someone else in her practice, who seems fine. I'm 32 wks and have no energy for this anymore. [ Reply | More ]
