[ - ] I am 7 months pregnant, have a 1 year old, work full time and can't sleep. I am waking up every night with so much anxiety. I don't know what to do. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Honestly it's pretty normal to be anxious in your position - you have a lot to deal with. If it helps my sis and I are 13m apart in age and my Mom says she thought it wasn't too bad having kids that close together. Will you be happier once you are on mat leave or is that what you are worried about? [ Reply | More ]

my only advice is to go to sleep as soon as your 1 y.o. does if you're not already doing that and nap on weekends. i had major insomnia during my 3rd pg. i wouldn't nap b/c i was afraid i'd have even worse nights if i slept during the day. once i realized that my nights were going to suck no matter what, i napped when i could - leaving dh to do some stuff on weekends he wasn't used to doing. it wasn't ideal but it was better than being up both day and night. [ - ] How much would you pay an hourly babysitter who has a college degree in early childhood special education and a teaching certificate? She has been working for us for 2 years and is wonderful. She has many many years of experience. She is taking care of two children for a few hours a day one who is severely autistic age 4, and one typical child age 5. We just aren't sure what is appropriate pay. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

UES. I think that might be the high end of what people pay but if I have a good sitter I like to keep them happy. [ Reply | More ]

Given the SN of one child and your baby sitter's exceptional background, i would pay $20/hr. $15 is the rate for two typically developing children and a nanny with no special training, so obviously you will need to pay more. [ Reply | More ]

Are you the OP? If that's the going rate in Tribeca then I guess you would need to pay $25/hr for your situation. [ Reply | More ]

ita, she deserves at least $5 more an hour for the severely autistic kid, especially because of her training. I doubt that any of your friends nannies would be will to charge their regular rate to deal with an autistic kid anyway, nor would they be at all qualified. [ Reply | More ]

People should probably put the age of their dc as it changes as they get older. My dc is six and watches nature specials, americas funniest home videos and pokemon on tv. When younger, no tv - occsional video [ Reply | More ]
