yes. i interviewd 6 before I found this one though. find one that you trust and one that works for you. there are a lot of quacks out there. but therapy with the right person can be great. if you need meds, make sure to talk about that with them too. but just talkig can help immensely. gl [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] What time do your 4 yo's go to sleep? Mine really will not go to sleep before 9 or 9:30. She is youngest, claims it's unfair that older sibs get to stay up later, so even if she's in her room, she's up. yes, we've been pretty lucky. my only suggestion would be to give everyone a slightly different bedtime so that she realizes it is based on age. (even if it's just 15 minutes later). you could also let her look at books but she has to be in bed. but frankly, it's a losing battle. [ Reply | More ]

and I didn't mean "work myself out of a job" in a comic way. I mean, my job is to raise them to be functional adults who don't need to be parented. When I taught high school I told my seniors that--my job is to work myself out of a job. I didn't want them going off to college needing my help to understand a book or write a paper. I wanted them to internalize that. [ Reply | More ]

Teacher. The chief curriculum is: I'm here for you as long as you need me. It's OK to separate because I won't disappear. I know you'll dance back and forth for the next 18 years at least but I'm sticking to this spot. Secondary curriculum: This is how life is lived. This is what's polite, what's kind, what's good, what's bold, what's strong, what's empathetic. In other words, I live my life as I hope my children will live theirs. I teach by being, doing, and talking about all of it. I read, help strangers, pull my own weight, try not to lie or hurt people, etc etc. [ Reply | More ]

Part of the reason why I registered was also a way to keep an ongoing list of things I needed/wanted for my future db. You don't need to register until your 6th or 7th month anyway and only most people who want to buy you gifts are going to ask you where you're registered anyway. [ Reply | More ]
