[ - ] Any other G&T moms freaked out by the way the DOE has mangled the pre-K process? Judging from what I have seen so far, it looks like a terrible mess. I am really worried now that the G&T placement letters will be irretrievably mangled! 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

one can hope that they will learn from their mistakes. The problem is that while they may learn it may cause them to redo pre-K and then delay G&T notification even further [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] What broadway show would you recommend to a family who's visiting NY for the 1st time. They are a couple in their 40's with a 14 year old son. They want to see a musical & can see only one show. Would Xanadu, Lion King, Wicked, etc be suitable? Would like to take them for something that will be fun for all of them - they are visiting from overseas & this will be their first broadway show. Thanks! 15 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

No! I don't think a 14 yo boy would want to sit through that with his parents. Besides that, I don't think it's the best of Broadway (Tony or not.) I'd say Wicked, Spamalot (if their English is very good and they get that kind of humor), Lion King is terrific. Actually I think Gypsy is best bet. [ Reply | More ]

If they can get tickets, South Pacific is supposed to be great, and is also a classic. Lion King or Wicked would be fun for all. Not sure about Xanadu. [ Reply | More ]

How sophisticated are they? Most of that is utter crap. I'd try for Gypsy or Spring Awakening. Even a Chorus Line would be better. Of what you listed, Wicked or Lion King. [ Reply | More ]
