[ - ] Anyone have experience with alcoholism? I am thinking dh might have a problem. He goes through phases where he'll have a bottle of wine at night a couple of times a week, or he'll have a weekend where he gets drunk two nights in a row even though I ask him to not drink so much. He has been not drinking for a couple of weeks. Wednesday we went to a dinner and he got a little buzzed but stopped. Last night he had a couple of drinks after work and then 3 when he got home. He kept telling me he wasn't drunk, didn't have that much, etc. but his speech seemed slurred. I am expecting db #1 and he's been drinking more the closer we get to the end of pg. He's generally extremely responsible. 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

my sister just realized she was an alcoholic. i had thought so for years. if you think there is a problem , there probably is. if he is having slurred speech and saying he didn't have much, then he may be. check out AA's web site. there is a seciton that asks qs to see if one is. [ Reply | More ]

i would recommend reading, children the challenge by rudolf dreikurs. he would suggest that you say nothing. and act instead. take the rock out of his hand, take the truck and return it to the other kid, leave the playground if he hits another kid and add, 'sorry you didn't want to stay here today", physically move him from near the swing and ladder. and give him choices to do other things. but stop saying, 'don't' say, 'you can climb up the ladder of the slide' [ Reply | More ]
