[ - ] Weird. So we bought a place with another couple as a TIC and we are waiting for it to be condo-ized. when we did the rennovations we kept saying we were going to get a washer/dryer in our place and we just never did- neither did they. so we both use the one in the basement. anyway, i saw her this morning and she was wearing one of my hoodies (zip up sweatshirts). I know it was mine- but i looked anyway and mine is no where, i must have left it in the dryer. How do i say something? 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

FH was recently named one of the top communities in NYC for raising children. Move as close as possible to Forest Hills Gardens on the south side of Queens Blvd. Walk through there and you'd never think you're still in NYC. [ Reply | More ]

I live in Forest Hills Gardens in a 2 family townhouse. We LOVE it. It feels like you are living in a beautiful, lush green suburb. But in reality you are a 20 minute subway ride from midtown...or a $30 cab ride. Schools are great (elementary). Junior high is more questionable. Lots of families in the area. Austin street, the main shopping street, has anything you need within walking distance...fish store, gourmet/natural store, cheese shop, a few chain cloting stores, nysc, childrens dance studio, children's cooking school, music school, gymboree, etc etc. Museums are in the city for the most part, but there are some others that are w/in driving distance such as the science museum in flushing meadows park that is about a 7 minute drive. [ - ] Overheard the saddest conversation today sitting in a coffee shop with dcs (across from a local high school). 3 high school kids were talking about life after graduation, their families etc. They were so articulate, funny, and insightful. One girl talked about how her parents (each on their 3rd marriage) fight all the time with their spouses about "ridiculous shit," and how she'll never be that way etc. Then a boy asked the others, "Seriously, what do you think you're going to do after graduation? There's nothing I can do, really. I would have joined the Air Force, but I didn't make it. I could become a cop, but they're thug. I could try to make money fighting, but I want something better for myself. My parents won't let me stay with them - what am I going to do?" 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]
