We are working hard on this. Parents need to be eased into it though. We have been working hard on baby leashes -making them cute and fun and not-scary (like backpacks!). We'll work on muzzles for spunky boys next. Then microchipping. Just give us time. [ Reply | More ]

Hee hee... She sounds like a peach. Ok, I'll tell one of mine. MIL always hated me (God knows why - I am *lovely* ;) Anyway, it looked like she was starting to come around once she found out I was pregnant, so when we got some ultrasound pictures we decided to offer her one. She replied "No. What would I want one of those for? It will just end up in the garbage." My mouth dropped to the floor. I couldn't believe someone could be so... so cold, I guess. Yeow. First child, we are all won over by the "use Dreft" propaganda. Later, we used regular detergent (by, like 6 mos) and washed his clothes sep. from ours. Second child, we just tossed her stuff in with ours from the beginning. (Though we do use All Free or Cheer Free.) Really, it's a question if you have detergent or dye or fragrance allergy in your family history. We do, my mom, but allergy genes seem to have died out with my generation. [ Reply | More ]

My dh is mostly wonderful (although when he displays the apple not falling far from that nutbag tree crap, he's not so precious). Db is only 5mo, but she does usually cry when MIL holds her. I think she senses MILs nerves and uneasiness. I know it's a little cruel, but I secretly smile when the little one starts up in her lap. And just so you don't start getting all sad for MIL, she's got no patience for db. As soon as she starts to fuss, or needs changing she screams "Take her!!" and shoves her back in our arms. A lovely woman, really. :/ [ Reply | More ]

Sclerotherapy or Laser? i had sclerotherapy twice by two different drs on a strange varicose vein (not inspiring when the Dr says "never seen something like this!"). It was mildly uncomfortable, and I had to wear compression shorts or ace bandages for a week or two, which was probably the worst part of the whole thing. [ Reply | More ]
