First child, we are all won over by the "use Dreft" propaganda. Later, we used regular detergent (by, like 6 mos) and washed his clothes sep. from ours. Second child, we just tossed her stuff in with ours from the beginning. (Though we do use All Free or Cheer Free.) Really, it's a question if you have detergent or dye or fragrance allergy in your family history. We do, my mom, but allergy genes seem to have died out with my generation. [ Reply | More ]

I used Dreft. I have had reactions to other detergents as an adult and derm always recommended using it, so I used it for all of us for a while [ Reply | More ]

I used Tide from day one with both kids. No problems. Don't buy into the Dreft crap. For stains, I bought a stain cleaner from Buy Buy Baby. [ Reply | More ]

Nah, some kids are actually sensitive. Before you give your little db hives or something, start out a little cautious. My SIL doesn't and I really think my niece pays the price. Her skin is a mess. [ Reply | More ]

We started off using regular detergent, same as what dh and I use for our own clothes. Figured if it caused a problem for db we'd switch, but it never did. [ Reply | More ]
