I saw an orthopedic surgeon and neurologist for this, the surgeon wanted to operate pretty much immediately and the neurologist said I had permanent nerve damage (both hands). I had a newborn, was recovering from a C-section and was unwilling at that point to undergo surgery, so instead I went to an acupuncturist and an osteopath for treatments. My right hand/wrist recovered completely, left side, 99.9%. I can give you the name of the acupuncturist a/o osteopath if that interests you; I don't still have the numbers for the others. I am a pediatric nurse and know loads of peds. but this is the type of information you get from the nurse, and from other moms too. Eg, introduce solid food one at a time after 6 months, starting w/starches. Sleep is an individual thing and depends on a child. Mostly allow to sleep as much as they want at night and during the day at least wake up after 4 hours [ Reply | More ]

op: if you are still on, I am fine getting recs from a nurse! but the office hasn't been helpful. db was having a very difficult time with formula (vomitting) and i am trying to wean. when i called, the doc on call said to discuss with my regular doctor and next appointment (in 2.5 months). this wasn't helpful to me [ Reply | More ]

How about a selection of great new books? If she is the "type" give her a gift card for donorschoose.org and let her sponsor a school project of her choosing (I loved this). A really nice cashmere throw. If she has a home, some gorgeuos peony plants to bloom for ever. [ Reply | More ]

You get a very light long sleeve shirt. Walk on the shadey side of the street...there alwasy is one except at noon. If you know you need to be outside for a long period, test some sunscreen on db's inner arm. We like WaterBabies by Coppertone...no need to go fancy. And, dbs benefit from 15 minutes of sun every day, no need to stress for walking across the street. [ Reply | More ]
