My df was just in that situation - her dd is 4.5 and just started going consistently in the potty. I know my mom wouldn't give me a diaper and actually gave me a suppository so I would poop because I would hold it for days. My df and her dd didn't have to do that - it just took time and lots of m&m's. gl [ Reply | More ]

ditch the diapers. give rewards for pooping on potty. make them good rewards, princess toys or something big, you should be done in a few days when she gets the idea. dont worry about the pull ups for nights, totally separate issue, plus you cant train at night, just have to wait until they can stay dry. BTDT with my 3yo dd. She would come in and DEMAND a diaperso she could poop. I would take herpantis off and put her on the toilet. I told her she could get off anytime she wanted but she wouldn't get her panties back until after she pooped. She would scream for a while but eventually pooped in the toilet. After about a week if this, one day she got off the toilet without pooping. While I was wiping down thetoilet she went into the living room without panties and took a poop on the floor. She also smeared the poop on our leather sofa and was playing with her toys getting poopon them. When I saw I calmly got a garbage bag and tossed every toy that had poop on it. When her dad got home I made a point of telling him right in front of her which poopy toys were being trashed and why. She was trained the next day. [ Reply | More ]
