i am not an expert but have read some things about this and about child abuse in general. is he sexually provocative in anyway or referring to sexual acts in an inappropriate way for a child his age; does he become uncomfortable/hysterical when he has to go to a certain person's home or that person is coming over; has he suddenly become very clingy and fearful, does he have any irritaion around sexual organs or a UTI or something uncommon to a 3 year old. Again these are just suggestions, you should speak to a sexual abuse specialist or your local police to be sure that you have the right info and do the right thing. [ Reply | More ]

hate to say it but all those stories about old eggs and it is harder to conceive the longer you wait are true. each person is different though. And there are women who can conceive easily after 35. But don't let the Holywood moms fool you. Half those women have used some assistance from shots to donor eggs. Start when you are ready to have a baby as they change your life but if you are in your 30's and you have ttc for 6 months with no luck I say get thee to a fertility specialist. There is lots that can eb done before IVF. Just don't wait too long as they stakes get higher. [ Reply | More ]

For the NYC schools, the DOE is changing the rules every year for 2 years straight, so who knows what it will be next year. But this year, the OLSAT/Bracken was taken in January 2008, when all the kids were 5 years old. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Seems a shame to waste the 98 98 98 that my son got on his spring ERB, but hubby and talked and decided that we will likely stick with our district G&T placement and not try to apply out to privates. Why have him repeat K? And while we could swing the tuition, we are definitely not rich enough to not feel the loss of $30K per year. We might consider in a few years, but obviously we will never get to use this particular score. Glad it wasn't 99x3 or I might have felt the need to apply anyway... 27 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

she is saying she has a competitve enough score to be in the running for top private, but is opting for a good G&T. does feel like a shame not to make an effort to see what her 98x3 would yield. truth is, she is smart to cut her losses now. wait until you have a 99 erb, go through 10 interviews, numerous OHs and tours only to get shut out or maybe a lower tier school. then you have really invested yourself, and you then go public. this lady and her dh are smart, IMO. ^^^not to mention getting what you think you want, only to worry and fret about how to pay for it (or paying a large percentage of your income for it) and then losing your deposit or worse when you drop it for your dream public. much better to get out now if you are smart enough to figure this out early.
