Not into labels, or spending a lot on clothes/shoes/bags. I told him he should feel lucky that I don't spend money on all those things, but he's still complaining. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

So I said to her, do you have something to say and she just turns away. If you are gonna have the nerve to judge a stranger so opening on the street, why do you not have the balls to address the person if she confronts you? WTF? 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I hate that. My ds once had a "time for a nap" meltdown at the playground and was doing his best fish on pavement imitation. Some lady walked by and just sneered, muttering "Jesus" - I was so annoyed and called her on it. "Jesus"? - her answer: "Christ". This too shall pass. [ Reply | More ]

VBAC mom from below and I needed plenty of pain meds after my vaginal birth and ended up with tons of stitches and a broken tailbone. Recovery is much easier after a scheduled c because you did not labor. [ Reply | More ]

I am giving her the worst case scenario. I scheduled c-section is not a bad recovery and less likely to have unexpected things happen. As someone who had a tough labor with a scary emergency c she should realize that it might not go perfectly even on the second try. [ Reply | More ]

I hated my C/S recovery, and by other standards, it wasn't even that bad. I didn't have any infections or complications or anything. But my scar keloided and was insanely sensitive for about 1 year, and still is depending on the weather. C-sections carry many more risks - I say pick another provider (midwife or OB) who is very supportive of natural birth, and try again. [ Reply | More ]

i had a scheduled c section for my 2nd. much easier. I was out of the hospital after 2 days-couldn't wait to get home. my milk came in while I was in hospital, which didn't happen with my first. my ob was amenable to a vbac, but I didn't want to try it then have the c again since my recovery from my first was tough. I didn't want to have that recovery and have to care for 2 kids. everyone is different. so find what works for you-don't feel pressured any way, but know that the 2nd isn't normally so bad. normal to be nervous too and have trouble deciding. sorry, totally new poster, I don;t know if anyone has said this, but this sounds like he is depressed. It can be very hard to detect, and some men are not willing to admit it, but depression is a huge problem for men and their libido. I highly doubt it has anything at all to do with you, most men would screw a willing participant with onion breath and unshaven legs and baggy sweats if they needed it. [ Reply | More ]

^^^wanted to add, antidepressent medication can add to lack of sex drive, but depression is a real medical condition and it is a major MAJOR source of lack of sex drive. If he takes medication, he may be impotent, but his sex drive could return just not the ability to have erections, then he can take viaga (men can continue to have sex drive with out ability to perform, unlike most women). That's what I am saying, depression, especially chronic depression is not what you think it is. It can be very subtle and many men are not willing to admit it. There is no good reason for a healthy man to be adverse to sex, it is not normal, it is absolutely a sign that something is wrong with him physically or mentally. I urge you to get him to a doctor to talk about this, trust me, do not go outside your marriage for sex, get him to the doctor, work on this for real or file for divorce, having an affair is not going to fix it and it will make it worse. I know this is not about you, you have to see that. He is not well. [ Reply | More ]

I think this woman is just looking for an excuse to have sex with her boss and ruin her life, her child's life, her boss's life, and her poor sick husband's life. There is clearly something wrong with the DH and she doesn't want to help him figure it out, instead she is just saying oh, I feel unattractive and so I'm gonna have an affair to feel good about myself and keep everything else status quo, There were so many good ideas here for her and she had an excuse why none would work, doesn't sound like a women on the edge to me, sounds like someone looking for excuses. You can file for full custody on the grounds of mental abuse, he is abusing you in a way. Don't have an affair to punish him, this is stupid. Do you live in the midwest or something? [ Reply | More ]

totally agree with above poster. DH needs help, and if he refuses, get a divorce. Don't go outside of the marriage. It will just bring a swift and very dark end to your marriage. [ Reply | More ]

Okay, I've read the whole dialogue here and it's pretty disturbing. If you're not happy and your partner isn't willing to confront the importance of that-END IT. You read like a typical mid-life crisis borne of a need to excuse your own roving, actively investigating eye; you're even engaging in some lame (yes sexual) exchange with a male poster. Get a grip on reality-You don't step out; you opt out first. [ Reply | More ]

If your partner isn't cheating, actually gay or depressed(which could be from any number of factors, including denial of his own sexual orientation), then this is not solved by cheating. Be an adult and quit the stupid vibrator threats, cockteasing around your past and workplace(!!) and see a therapist. If you've ever had a grip on being a woman-you've lost it. You sound like a nin.ny [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] I live in Brooklyn and send my kid to the local crappy elementary school and frankly, I'm really not worried about their long term prospects. Then again, I went to the local crappy elementary school myself and ended up an Ivy league grad. I think that as long as you talk to your kid, take them to interesting places, make sure they read good books and learn how to reason independently, they will succeed without or without the fancy 25K a year education of superselective nerdy G & T schools. But hey, that's just me - thinking outside the box over here. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

op: depends on how crappy we're talking about. For example, I don't necessarily think that children need to be pushed to read at very young ages. On the other hand, I think the attitude that many public elementary schools have towards basic computational skills in math is appalling. [ Reply | More ]
