my god daughter was in line for a day care that confirmed she could attend (she was confirmed to go part time), she is high needs in that she will have ot, pt, and speech therapy come to the the day care (all approved by the day care) and have equipment with her (stander, sitter etc.) she is 1.5 yrs old and will be in newborn room still due to her disability. my friend kept on calling them to see when dc could start and no one called her back for weeks. she finally called one day like 10 times and asked to speak to the head person, a secretary finally called her and said everyone left and that there was no one she could speak to, AND she said the day care decided not to do part time kids anymore, my friend asked when did they change that rule and she said "today" and basically hung up. my friend called back and asked right out if it was because of the disability that they were denying her and they said "no", of course. Should she pursue this further do you think?? We both think it is discrimination, it is a federally funded place that has taken disabiled children in the past. Has anyone BTDT??? thank you very much.
