[ - ] Reposting for evening crowd - NYC OB/GYN advice needed: Torn between staying with Jacques Moritz or switching to someone new. I need to schedule my next appt (6 mo pp). In some ways Moritz took care of me well but his office is a disorganized nightmare and he was AWOL for the birth itself. Considering Alice Kim or Renuka Paka (both also SLR). I've lived in Darien for the last 15 years. I can probably speak for a number of commuters when i say that we ended here b/c it was just a lot easier than N.C. Another diffence for people seems to be land- for NC and beach- for Darien. Peolple speak very highly of the school system here. We have two dc but have gone the private route, age of dd was an issue - 12/27 birthdate, and class size was pretty large for ds's grade. Socially I can only speak for Darien- it is extremly white, there are plenty of middle class people; and I am from Wisconsin originally and have made a lot of friends here- hope this helps. yes, while the educational consultant we were working with suggested that a great school for DD would be Brearly (and dd is very verbal and bright, top erbs), we decided at a very late stage that it wouldn't fit us. we are somewhat religious jews - we keep kosher etc - and felt that dd would feel very left out at lunchtime, birthday parties (on saturdays would be problematic) etc. [ Reply | More ]

wouldn't that be true for most non-jewish schools? My friend, whose family is also religious/conservative (keep kosher etc.) has her kids at Fieldston, which is quite jewish, and it has been an issue for them too. The school wouldn't even allow them to bring in kosher food for lunch, so the kids are very limited in what they can eat at school. She said all the b-day parties are on saturdays, and they are pretty much the only religious family in any of their grades. [ Reply | More ]

but the thing is, he is really being mean to me, doesn't want to talk, etc...i want to make sure its not just his M.O. to get me to break up with him. they aren't anabolic steriods, they are the other kind that doctors give you for sinus stuff, but steriods nonetheless [ Reply | More ]

np - that you are even thinking he could be trying to break up with you suggests deeper problems even if it is ultimately attributed to the steriods [ Reply | More ]

Have him ask the doctor. Is it injected, topical or oral? When was he put on them? When did the mood change start? [ Reply | More ]

my DH is calm and funny and easy going and had to take steroids and became an a-hole. I finally pointed out to him that his responses were not "him" and he was able to switch meds. [ Reply | More ]

This was totally my mother when she was on oral steroids b/c of poison ivy. She would pick fights and be completely nasty to my step-dad. He was supper worried until he read the side-effects. For a day or two, he thought that they were going to have to get a divorce. It is totally normal. If this behavior didn't exist before the steroids, then I would wait till he goes off before you make any decisions. [ Reply |
