I got banned for the first time (since 2009!) last month! I mused out loud if the strong attendance at protests was in part being bolstered by a lot of young people being restless in quarantine and ready to get out. Meanwhile, I was also actively attending protests myself, so definitely din't intend it to be negative or snarky - I was just curious if the timing was beneficial to the cause. Well someone went NUTS on me, accused me of being anti-movement, said they were offended that I would even suggest that people weren't genuine (which I wasn't suggesting), etc. And for some reason, just like that, I was banned! It was weird, because I rarely post anything politically provocative - was trying more to make a sociological observation that I found interesting. [ Reply | More

NP: I got banned recently too, for something equally as trivial (not that the protests are trivial). I think that is probably related to why they are shutting down. It seems like in the old days, there was virtually NO moderation (remember when teen boys would just post pages and pages of the same post over and over again?) A while back it looks like they started to clean it up, and I'm guessing it's just not worth the effort for them anymore. [ Reply | More

ITA. We were a real team back then. Vigilante Anti-Trollers. Invading AutoAdmit when they invaded us. Teaching each other to sort by recent replies instead of newest post to keep posting during a troll storm. [ Reply | More
