Warning - TMI bathroom question...I wouldn't say I'm constipated, because I have a bowel movement at least every other day, but my stool isn't normal - it's small, sort of hard pieces. I incorporate lots of fiber into my diet and drink lots of water, but it's been like this for a while. Prunes and Miralax don't help. Should I see a doctor? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Try "smooth move" tea right before bed. It's basically just the senna leaf but should loosen you up. I'd try that a few days just to get things softer and then stop and see if it makes much of a difference. I'd also ask how's your fiber intake? Sometimes it's not just water. [ Reply | More ]

Calculate your fiber intake. Many think they get enough but they don't. Should be 35 grams at minimum [ Reply | More ]

Perimenopausal here. Had the same phase about last year. Last a few months, got worried and had a colonoscopy. Glad I did because they found small stuff, nothing major, but still glad to get that done. Anyways, a stool softener helps. That colonoscopy cleanse process seemed to reset my system though. Thanks, but I'm in my 20s. Miralax hasn't helped me. [ Reply | More ]
