Any OB/GYN moms on? For the first 3 years I had my IUD (Mirena) in, I had pretty much no periods and no PMS symptoms at all. The past few months I've had a light flow and mild PMS symptoms (acne, mood changes, etc). Does this indicate that my IUD is becoming less effective, or is it normal for this to fluctuate over time? Women's health NP - normal to fluctuate. Mirena is currently FDA approved for 5 years but all the research says effective for 7 (and has been used in Europe for that duration for awhile) so definitely no need to replace after 3 years. [ Reply | More ]
