Any tips to motivate (I'm open to incentives) DCs on doing a bit of school work over the summer? Thinking small chunks of math and reading (one DC loves and would do so on her own, other needs pushing). [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

How old? I think keeping a journal or writing letters--REAL writing projects are good. Maybe writing letters to friends. Reading--buy them books on any topic they want. They get to choose any books--then more likely to read. Math--depends on age. For younger kids--find math in everyday life. Cooking, math games (so many math card games--google), Bedtime Math email.
