Q: For those who don't have relatives nearby, who cared for #1 when you went into labor w/#2? I'm so nervous about calling neighbors at 3am, about 2 yos reaction to the whole thing... hate that I can't make a solid plan in advance... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Of course we have friends. And luckily, some are close neighbors. I'm still worried about the last-minute rush, ds waking to find them in the apt with him in the morning, etc. I know we'll all get through it, but it's just added stress. [ Reply | More

My neighbor is pg and due any day now and she is going to call me if she goes and needs someone. I am perfectly happy to do that for her. Her family will come to her house as soon as they can get there. [ Reply | More

Just remember you should have a few hours notice before anything too exciting happens. Even if things kick off at 3am you wouldn't necessarily have to rush to hospital straight away. [ Reply | More
