You feel she is wrong? Is doing it for spite? I don't know the situation, but often it is better to do these things earlier rather than late so that dc can get what they need to be successful. [ Reply | More

(i mean, obviously you aren't thrilled but can they do it without your permission?) is your dd a cut-off birthday? is your dd going to have the same teacher next year? my ds is not really a cutoff birthday but he is young for his grade and he is pretty immature. i'm not going to hold him back but i am concerned about it. but if he doesn't learn the basics or doesn't learn the good habits b/c he's not adjusting in kindergarten and first grade, then it can have ramifications later on. At least, i think that would be the argument. i'm not holding him back anyway. [ Reply | More
