How many plan to keep their kids at home and do remote only? I think this was one good idea from the DOE, see how many kids will actually go to school this early. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Mine will be remote. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the fall starts fully remote for everyone. It’s only 9.5 weeks from now. [ Reply | More ]

I know it's too far. I am just curious now that we have to submit a form, who is certain they want to keep their kids at home/stay at second home. [ Reply | More ]

It seems as though you will be able to opt in for in person on a rolling basis. [ Reply | More ]

The DOE survey said that 75% of NYC parents want to send their kids back to school in the fall. [ Reply | More ]

Because those who can afford to keep kids at home are a small group. Majority of public school families do not own a second home with a SAH parent and need their kids in school so they can work. [ Reply | More ]

WTF. I'm SAH and I can't wait for them to be back in the classroom. This is not a bed of roses for anyone. Not to mention, that I planned on looking for a new job in the fall... [ Reply | More ]

Why WTF? Just stating that the 75% is not surprising. Families who CAN keep kids at home are a small fraction. No one is judging anyone's choice, I am commenting on the numbers. [ Reply | More ]

i dont know why Eliza Shapiro circulated that #. Thats not the same # that the NYC survey posted online. Also, the wording was "If it were safe...". So, that can mean a LOT of different things. If it were safe to go to Florida right now, I might do that too! [ Reply | More ]

And if it were safe to socialize in close proximity without a mask, I would vote yes for that too! The wording of the question is important. [ Reply | More ]

if it were live instruction daily, i would. I think people will follow the crowd, as usual. if enough people do it, so will they, even if they have doubts about safety. [ Reply | More ]
