Just writing in to say THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU GUYS. So many individuals who post here have really helped me with all sorts of problems, large and small, over the past many years. To every person who has ever taken a moment to write in a kind word, an encouraging response, a piece or wisdom, a helpful hint or just something that made me laugh out loud: thank you. Truly. Totally agree. I initially came here to be snarky and superior, and eventually was changed by the people here who were kind and offered thoughtful advice. In the early days I posted comments I would be ashamed of now, and became someone who thought "would I say this IRL to a friend" before commenting. Being here made me more empathic. [ Reply | More

ITA. I've been reading through my watched posts (I have 400 pages of them) and getting a little emotional. I know people here have a reputation for being snarky and rude, but I am seeing pages of people providing helpful and supportive responses to all sorts of things. I laugh at some of the problems I posted about here -- like preschool problems that I don't even remember now and seem trivial now that the preschooler in question is 10 -- but people were so helpful! And some of the snark is really funny. ;) [ Reply | More
