Me. I will say, I do not have DCs yet, which I think makes a big difference. Pre-COVID, I would walk with DH to his office and get on an M1 to mine. I work in a very loud, open floor plan office. Headcount has grown 30% since I started and we don't have a single inch more of office space- they just keep moving desks closer and closer. There are never enough conference rooms, so I have been forced to take many calls on the dirty floor of our service elevator vestibule. I would leave work around 7 and get home around 7:30. I have MS, and the commute really takes a lot of my energy, so after I got home, I would feed the dogs and then sit on the couch alone and read until DH got home around 10 or 11. Now, I have SO much more energy- I can sleep later and I don't have to use all that energy to commute. I get to hang with my dogs all day. I get to eat dinner with DH 7 days a week. I don't waste mental energy on what I am wearing or how my hair/makeup looks. [ Reply | More ]

:) We know it won't last forever. We know we want kids one day. But we have looked at each other frequently during this quarantine and said "I am so glad we don't have a baby right now..." [ Reply | More ]

You sound like an utterly self-involved Millennial. [ Reply | More ]

OR: I bet! Most of my friends/colleagues have babies/toddlers- those who were able to take their nannies with them to their country/beach houses are enjoying it, my SAHM friends are enjoying it, but my friends who work FT and haven't had their nannies in are starting to lose their minds, and understandably so. I really enjoy not feeling pressured to attend things and am liking being well rested. Am realizing how tired and overcommitted I was. [ Reply | More ]

I don't prefer the entire package, but there are aspects that are nice. I am hardly ever able to visit my family because it's difficult for me to take so much leave from work. Now, I'm able to work remotely while visiting my parents (don't worry, I did so safely). I was worried about after school care for my kids--that's obviously not an issue anymore. It's just nice to have flexibility to be at home. I just don't like the lack of flexibility to be outside of home. [ Reply | More ]

Me. We all had to lead pretty insane lives for work and school. DH and I are not traveling anymore. DCs are teens and are quite self sufficient. We work from home and spend a few hours in the PM as a family and then get back to our individual evening priorities. Also working out almost everyday. I could do this forever! [ Reply | More ]

+1 This is almost exactly our life too. It's like we didn't realized how ridiculous our lifestyle was until we had to slow it down. Best spring and summer I've had in years. [ Reply | More ]
