Just had my first hearing test (I'm 50+). Conductivity issues in right ear (going back for more tests next week). Anyone have this issue? Did you have to have surgery? tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I’m sure it’s not what you want to hear but hearing loss might mean brain tumors. Something blocking the ear canal. [ Reply | More ]

What’s wrong with you? That’s not even accurate that a brain tumor would block an ear canal [ Reply | More ]

Thanks -- I did google causes and they mentioned benign tumors. I guess it could be malignant too. [ Reply | More ]

I’m an audiologist! Did they say a “conductive hearing loss” in right ear? Then definitely not a brain tumor, do not listen to that poster! Could be fluid or a problem with eardrum or middle ear bones [ Reply | More ]

Love you! Yes -- that's what they said (I think -- I have trouble hearing, you know :)). I'm seeing a middle ear specialist (why do I think of the Hobbit?). I'll post an update. [ Reply | More ]

Conductive hearing losses are often treatable. If not, a hearing aid is an easy fix as opposed to using a hearing aid with a sensorineural loss which can be trickier [ Reply | More ]
