Anyone not go back after maternity leave? I’m supposed to go back Monday but just got a job offer I want to take. Think I’ll have to repay current company for May leave? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I wouldn't think you would? I wish I could go back and take more leave than I did. [ Reply | More ]

I started interviewing during my first mat leave, got an offer and quit my job about 6 weeks after returning from mat leave. It was an incredibly awkward conversation when I quit, and they tried to bid me back, but then I was out and had a better job. Of course I felt guilty, but not guilty enough to throw away an excellent opportunity. No regrets. [ Reply | More ]

the company should've given you the opportunity you deserved if they wanted to keep you on. [ Reply | More ]

At my company (large and well known), if you take paid maternity leave and don’t come back, they don’t pay you out for the vacation you accrued (up to the leave amount). However, if the amount of maternity leave exceeded your accrued paid vacation, you don’t have to pay back extra. [ Reply | More ]

Someone I hired for my office. She showed up visibly pregnant on the first day of work. On the second told me she would need maternity leave in a few months but would only be out two months. Never came back. [ Reply | More ]
