I have a choice to WFH or return to the office. Manhattan. For September 1. WWYD? I have DC hopefully in school but I miss being in the city and working in an office. I'm more productive. WWYD? I am mid 50s, low risk but DH is retired and medium risk due to age, health is great. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Can you do both? 3 days in, 2 days home, etc. [ Reply | More ]

NP -- to me, that is ideal. Even before all of this, I worked in the office Mon/Tues/Thurs. At home Wed/Fri. [ Reply | More ]

+1 WFH while simultaneously homeschooling two kids has been an absolute unproductive nightmare, but under normal circumstances, having a day or two at home is amazing. Like on a Friday, being able to do laundry, clean my bathrooms between meetings (I'm that rare UB breed who doesn't have a cleaning person), get dinners prepped, etc. sets me up for a weekend that is less hectic. Does your boss care that you're cleaning the bathrooms and preparing food during the work day? [ Reply | More ]

I work in digital media - there is no "work day." We are sometimes working with West coast teams at 9:00pm EST, or putting together decks over the weekend. Taking 20 min here and there on a Friday afternoon between projects or calls doesn't mean my work isn't getting done. And my boss is literally doing the same thing. [ Reply | More ]

I might do both if I could. My office probably won't even be opening until 2021 according to my manager, which kind of bums me out. I'm trying to just enjoy this change for what it is (more time with my family) but I miss being in the office a bit too. [ Reply | More ]

Do whichever one makes you happier. I've been WFH since before covid and I MUCH prefer working like this, but I know some hate it. Some people like their offices, reading during their commute, etc. [ Reply | More ]
