but when you move to hunter in 7th the vast majority of the class is also starting at the school that year (and even with that its a rocky transition for many kids). its different from moving where you will be one a few new kids. [ Reply | More ]

I doubt you need to bring HCHS here as I'm sure you know what OP meant, being a parent of a Hunter student. Please. Same to the one above. [ Reply | More ]

if you mean moving to a suburb, some have middle school that start at 7th grade. Edgemont, in Scarsdale, is one, and they stay on campus through 12th. [ Reply | More ]

My daughter’s bf moved for middle school and she had no issues and she is a quirky kid. I think it is a it harder now without camp and socializing. [ Reply | More ]

We tend to get a few new kids each year and all have friends. People in my burb go out of their way for new kids. [ Reply | More ]

Yes I am thinking to burb, should we move next year when she is in 8th grade or wait for 9th grade to start HS in a new town etc... [ Reply | More ]

It is fine whenever you move. There have been no issues with older kids in my town. It is harder for parents because there is more opportunity to meet people with little kids. [ Reply | More ]
