School's out, we're out of the city for the summer. Usually we are planning who is coming to visit, and when. Not sure if that will happen this summer... is anyone planning to visit friends or have visitors? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

UB has made me so paranoid as a guest, I don't even want to accept invites in normal times [ Reply | More ]

Nope. We are happy to have friends stop by to hang in the backyard for a couple hours but not having any weekend guest, including family. [ Reply | More ]

Absolutely no guests for us. I feel bad for DCs but DH is high risk and we just decided this weekend that we won’t socialize whatsoever this summer, no camp, no tennis. I’m ok with it and DH is too. I also think our DCs will miss the summer sleepovers but we’ll try to make the most of it. I’m relieved as I hate house guests! [ Reply | More ]

Your kids will be fine. They are at a summer house. Feel bad for all of the kids in apts in the city with working parents and no camps - remind your kids of this if they whine or complain. [ Reply | More ]

I'm not planning on visiting anyone including my parents other than outside on their deck or backyard. My friend who has a beach house in Maine plans to tell people they can come visit at the beach but they should bring their own food and drink, can't come in, or use the bathroom. Very hard to be hospitable in the circumstances! [ Reply | More ]

Not sure. We usually have houseguests regularly at our beach house and we spend a week at a friends house on the Cape. This year we won't have any guests, but may reassess in AUgust. We will likely have my sister and her kids at some point, but not sure. We are also debating accepting our friends' invitation tot he Cape later in the summer, but not sure. Playing everything by ear. [ Reply | More ]

We are renting a house sight unseen. Well now we know what it looks like. The back yard is maybe 10 feet long by 4 feet wide. Really tiny. So if anything it will have to be no more than 3 or 4 people coming by and not coming inside. [ Reply | More ]

We will continue to have our son’s best friend come every couple weeks for the weekend. Both families are isolating and we have an agreement RE restarting quarantine 14 day clock if we have some real level of exposure. Also, a close friend and her family are coming for a weekend. Also isolating and Both families will do a strict 14 day Quarantine prior. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know anyone who is isolating anymore (unless you and I have different definitions of isolating) [ Reply | More ]

what do you mean by isolating? We only see a handful of people (all family) thinking about seeing some friends at some point but being careful [ Reply | More ]

Seeing very few people (occasionally see my brother and one set of neighbors) and at a distance. Taking as few grocery trips as possible, not going to public places, stores, etc. No camp this summer, working from home. I know a number of families who are doing this. [ Reply | More ]

OR -- I think that is what most people are doing now, which is not isolating. Isolating is no one in, no one out, all deliveries contactless, wiping down everything was delivered. And I do know a lot of families who did that at the beginning (including my family). But now we have seen cousins, had a few of the teenager's friends over the back yard (with masks when they weren't 6 feet apart), gone to the occasional doctor's appointment, gone to the grocery store (with masks and gloves). IOW, no longer isolating at all, but rather just taking precautions. [ Reply | More ]
