Recipe books. I love them and use them but get most of my recipes online. I love going through them though. I have them beautifully displayed on a huge shelf mixed with decorative objects so it does not look like clutter. [ Reply | More

My mom collects Christmas ornaments. She says it's the perfect collection because it only comes out once a year. Whenever she travels, she gets an ornament there. Whenever there is a special event, like a birth, anniversary, or graduation, she gets an ornament made to commemorate the occasion. [ Reply | More

Organized to her. When she has a guest who is very good at organization, her home drives them crazy. Especially her kitchen and pantry. The secret to understanding her organization is to think about the fact she's under 5 feet tall, her husband's over six feet tall, and she often has babies and toddlers over. [ Reply | More

I do this too. Travel and also an ornament to commemorate every year (usually a picture ornament). It's nice because when we put the tree, we reminisce over the places we've been and family pictures over the years. [ Reply | More

Art, and design books. Joy, I keep it within strict limits, I don't buy anything if I don't have a place for it and declutter aggressively/frequently.
