Not in NYC. Is it safe to go to my appointment with primary care physician next week? They take a lot of precautions apparently and I wear a mask the whole time (doc does too) I have only surgical masks, do I need some other kind? Thanks. Also have a dentist appt in 2 week and hope it will be Ok to go. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

We haven’t been since nyc dr’s are only just starting to take appointments for non emergency visits but both my and dr’s dentist and primary physicians have sent detailed guidelines re visit and I would feel comfortable going. We can’t stay in the “cave” forever. I’m careful but I’m also healthy and reasonably young so I think it’s ok. [ Reply | More ]

I went to a primary care doctor a few weeks ago and it was fine. Everyone was wearing masks and they sprayed the entire office with lysol spray frequently. Taking an elevator (if necessary) is going to be the riskiest part of it. [ Reply | More ]

You need to go. Epidemiologists are saying that people skipping dr's appointments out of fear is turning into a bigger risk than the virus. [ Reply | More ]

I'm upstate and went for a routine follow-up visit last month. It was fine. Everyone had to wear masks. They pre-screened me the day before over the phone, took my temperature before letting me into the building, took me right to the exam room, and all co-pays, scheduling etc were not handled in the office. My mom is 82 and had cancer last year, so many of her appointments are done by telemedicine. She still has to go in for the scans and bloodwork but her Drs do the discussion by telehealth. I went to a doctor's appt. in a hospital last week. I felt much safer than I do in any store. The precautions and cleanliness could not have been more thorough. As far as the dentist, the danger is for them, not you. I wouldn't worry. [ Reply | More ]
