If your child attends NYC private, can you share and plans communicated regarding 20-21 school year? If you're comfortable sharing name of school that would be great, if not, do you mind sharing type/grades - K-12, elementary, HS, etc.? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

school is working on a variety of plans. They have communicated some of the ideas, but not the exact thing they will be doing. K-8 [ Reply | More ]

Same - K-8, school may start earlier, too. Undecided. [ Reply | More ]

for ours, the only thing they said for sure is that they will not start earlier, but teachers are doing 2 extra weeks, one in June and one in Aug to share what worked / didn't work, and in Aug implement new ideas. [ Reply | More ]

OR - by "earlier" I meant aug 26- sept 1 -- not that much earlier. [ Reply | More ]

ECFS. Working on 3 models -- (1) fully back to school, normal schedule for everyone with precautions like temp checks, masks etc.; (2) hybrid model with the same precautions but limited building capacity so not all students could be in school at the same time; (3) fully remote. Seems most likely that #2 will be the one that will happen. Normal opening day (first Thursday after Labor Day). So much depends on the state rules which are not released yet. [ Reply | More ]

^^^ also, they said they know that there will be some children who will have to be remote because they or someone they live with are immune-compromised. [ Reply | More ]

HCHS is doing something similar. Planning a variety of models, willing to be flexible for individual families. I also think the #2 scenario is most likely. [ Reply | More ]
