Back in mid March I was walking my dog and she surged at a cat in a window twisting my hand in the leash. Two fingers swelled for a few days and then were bruised. It has mostly healed but one knuckle continues to be larger and can be made sore by excess dish washing or other activity. Is there a chance I broke it? Should I see a doc? It is annoying because it is my right hand. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

They can stay sore for a long while, but you might want to get it checked. I once fell skiing and hurt my thumb. The local ER told me it was a sprain but get it checked in a couple of weeks if it still hurt. On recheck, I had actually torn the tendon away from the bone and had surgery to reattach.
