We’ve been paying our part time babysitter since mid March but not using her. Now I have learned I won’t be back in the office until next year. I told her we needed to reduce amount by mid July and encouraged her to look for other work. Our kids are tweens now. Anyone else been through this? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You should tell her that you can't keep paying her. It is very kind you paid her this long. [ Reply | More ]

Going through similar except sitter was out of country until May so we haven’t been paying her. I need to decide when/how to tell her she’s probably never coming back [ Reply | More ]

Same exact situation. Started by telling her we won’t be paying her when we are on vacation (that’ll be 3 weeks this summer)—original situation was to give her this as PTO in order to offer a competitive package but that was before! We will likely give her notice of further reduction once we know what next school year holds. If it’s remote, at least in part, I’ll be remote too. [ Reply | More ]
