5'8 and gained 10lbs since February (150lbs) - want to get down to my ideal - last summer's weight when I was eating well and working out regularly which is 138, but going to be aggressive and shoot for 135. 7 days in and I'm at 146. Is it reasonable to expect to continue to lose 2lbs a week? or is that very difficult? I'm sticking to 1200 calories a day and doing intermittent fasting 12-6. I was drinking 6 nights a week and now only letting myself drink on the weekends (2 nights) and 2 drink max. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I think it will be a little more challenging than usual because of stress and the fact that you are so close to your goal weight. If you really want to hit the 2lbs a week mark, you are going to have to cut out all drinking. [ Reply | More ]

Serious question - how do you stave off the hunger pains from only eating 1200 calories? I'm eating 1600 calories a day (down from 2000) and it can be a real struggle on some days. [ Reply | More ]

Hi twin! I stopped drinking and non-stop snacking June 1 (I was 3-4 glasses of wine a night since the pandemic started along will all kinds of crazy junk food I never used to eaat), sticking to around 1200 cals and trying to up my activity. Hoping for 2lbs a week as well. [ Reply | More ]

Stick with your IF, focus on lower carb, you can drink 2 nights if you keep it to 2 drinks max. You can lose 2 pounds a week. Are you exercising? [ Reply | More ]

I’ve been doing IF since late March along with not drinking and exercising daily. The first month or so I was steadily losing 2 lbs a week. Then it slowed to 1 lb a week and has kind of plateaued the last couple weeks. Granted I have not been calorie restricting or limiting carbs. I would still like to lose like 5 more lbs but I know I will probably have to get a little more strict with the food intake. [ Reply | More ]

How old are you? That matters - if you're in your thirties, yes, two pounds a week is reasonable. If you're in your 40s, that might be more of a challenge, particularly late 40s. Give up grains, dairy, and meat if you're serious. [ Reply | More ]
