my friend says she has a blocked tube and her doctor says that he thinks she won't be able to conceive without IVF. What does a blocked tube mean? what is it blocked with? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Im not an expert but I think the issue is you only ovulate from one ovary (usually) every month, and maybe not equally? [ Reply | More ]

my SIL had this. As I remember it, you still ovulate normally, just the egg is not able to make it down the damaged tube to be fertilized. My SIL had the damaged tube removed (I think it was to improve conception probability.) After a few rounds, she had a beautiful healthy baby via IVF. Then a few years later... they had one naturally. Her doc said the wild part is that the egg which was fertilized was from the ovary without the fallopian tube. That the tube from the other side "reached over" and snagged that egg. (It was a one in a million chance.) [ Reply | More ]
