i had a late miscarriage about a month ago. since then, things have been really weird. a lot of discharge, a lot of bloating. i asked my doctor and he brushed me off and said it's fine. but i'm uncomfortable. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

yes, I would think maybe they did. Did they do bloodwork following the mc? if so, that's what they were testing for. but it's no good to feel blown off in any event- especially in your circumstances. maybe go back and ask again. if you don't get a satisfactory response, perhaps seek another opinion? gl [ Reply | More

i'm thinking (strongly) of switching doctors but i think i need to get this whole thing finished with before anything else. my doctor didn't do the procedure but i did go to my doctor for a follow up. he drew blood but didn't specifically say that he was testing hcg levels. [ Reply | More

I can completely understand that. You've got enough to worry about right now without worrying about finding a new doc. But it sounds like they probably did test the level-- but I'm sure you feel like it would have been nice to know that. [ Reply | More

i had a d&e. (fetus was too big for a d&c). no pain. discharge on and off and bloating. just a general feeling of discomfort, no real pain. [ Reply | More

It may just be your body coming down from all the hormones and getting back to normal, etc. Nonetheless, this is a huge red flag as far as your dr is concerned and I would switch to a new one. [ Reply | More

This is not normal, and it is not right for your OB to brush you off. I had to terminate a pregnancy in the 2nd trimester and had issues afterwards. Dr brushed me off and it turned out I had some serious post d&c complications that almost cost me my uterus. Not to alarm you, but I would get into see a doctor. [ Reply | More

severe pain a day or two after the procedure. I called the dr twice and he said that it was normal and that "this is just something women go through." Turns out it was a pretty severe infection, probably bc d&c was not complete. [ Reply | More
