I need some advise, 13mo db is only interested in playing with electrical outlets, the keyboard, mouse, remotes phones ect, he knows he's not supposed to touch them because whenhe goes near them he starts whining if i'm watching, i say NO but he waves his hand as if to say leave me alone, i repeat and take him away, he goes right back. Is there any way to get the message through? Dh thinks that swatting his hand lightly when he's touching might be the answer. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

its going to be easier fro you to jsut remove temptation, there are childproofingproducts to cover teh controls for all these devices, and unless you thinkhe CAN get his finger under, maybe you ignore him at the outlets. or get better caps [ Reply | More ]

Put all of those items out of sight/reach for the time being. safety plug the outlets. buy him toy phones, remotes, etc. and distract with those. [ Reply | More ]

Why bother swatting his hand lightly? That will only make him laugh. Instead, you should haul off and slap the shit out of him everytime he walks near the computer. Or if you're on the computer, typing on UB, then just kick him. [ Reply | More ]

My ds is the same. Nothing has worked, so sorry, no advice. He actually loves pulling off the outlet covers and has nearly mastered the cabinet locks. I just keep dangerous stuff on the highest shelves of cabinets now and am hoping he'll lose interest eventually. He turns the tv on and off when we're watching. Same with a/c. It is somewhat amusing when dh watching a game at least. [ Reply | More ]
