with all this talk about 99's etc--a little perspective: my daughter was adopted when she was 9 months old. She had rickets and was very malnourished. at 1 year she weighed 12 pounds. She did not walk until 22 months, and she was in every kind of EI possible--OT, PT, ST. In those early years she was so delayed--we were not sure that she would ever catch up. All I wanted was for her to be happy-- every day was such a struggle for her. Now she is doing great. She is solidly in the middle in all her classes (4th grade), has lots of friends. I take nothing for granted anymore! The most important thing is a happy healthy child. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

thanks for posting this. I get very caught up and sometimes sad about my 5yo ds ADD and PDD. I have to remind myself about how these are problems we can work through and it's great he has me who is willing to work with him. 99 ERBs mean nothing in a small or grand scheme. [ Reply | More ]

Thank you for sharing but, but don't give these NY freak moms any credit for changing their narcissistic attitudes about themselves, their kids, and their schools. [ Reply | More ]

We are caught up in our own world and our own lives. It is nice to take a perspective break and to say a little prayer of thanks that ours are healthy and happy, but it only lasts a moment before we magnify our petty problems into "life-shattering" issues again. I always personally know that Ironically that I am definitely someone to rely on in a true crisis (level headed calm and dispassionate), but I go to pieces over the little frustrations in life [ Reply | More ]
