Longshot here -- My dh who is chronically late has expressed willingness to see a therapist or do a program to deal with his lateness. Anyone have any recommendations? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I suggested that to my MIL and she thought it was more related to anxiety/procrastination. [ Reply | More ]

procrastination is often a symptom of ADD. many times someone can have both ADD and anxiety (also becoming anxious because of all of the things one is putting off and not dealing with). just suggesting this because, if this is his situation, he might just end up feeling worse about himself if he tries to do some program/treatment that doesn't address any underlying brain chemistry imbalance. i'm chronically late too! i have an absolute aversion to being anywhere early - so i risk it and end up running late all the time... although i don't think i have any add problems (went through many years of schooling and a lot of standardized testing, not sure if having deficit in attention would enable me to do that)... dh hates it that we're always late. but i can't stand being at a place early!! no anxiety problems either...
